Home and Packing

Hi Friends and Family. After about 30 hours of traveling, I am home in beautiful Southern California (there is no where else I would rather be!). I have unpacked, slept, hung out with friends and family, and finally caught up on Friday Night Lights (seriously one of the best television shows ever!). I am now repacking for a week long work retreat in the 115 F degree, heat of Palm Springs. I cant wait to be back home in a week to finally get to settle back down into my "normal" life. During this next week my blog posts may be few and far between, but make sure to check back ever so often as I do plan to continue to blog!

Home Is Wherever I'm With You!

Alabama, Arkansas, I do love my ma and pa
But not the way I do love you
Well, holy moly, me-oh-my, you're the apple of my eye
Girl, I never loved one like you

Man, oh, man you're my best friend, I'll scream it to the nothingness
There ain't nothin' that I need
Well, hot and heavy, pumpkin pie, chocolate cake and Jesus Christ
Ain't nothin' please me more than you

Home, let me come home
Home is wherever I'm with you
Oh home, yes, I am home
Home is when I'm alone with you

La, la, la, la take me home
Mother, I'm comin' home

I'll follow you into the park, through the jungle, through the dark
Girl, I never loved one like you
Moats and boats and waterfalls, alley ways and pay-phone calls
I've been everywhere with you, that's true

Laugh until we think we'll die, barefoot on a summer night
Never could be sweeter than with you
and in the streets we're runnin' free like it's only you and me
Jeex, you're somethin' to see

Home, let me come home
Home is wherever I'm with you
Oh home, yes, I am home
Home is when I'm alone with you

La, la, la, la take me home
Daddy, I'm comin' home

Jane, Alexander
Do you remember that day you feel out of my window?
I sure do, you came jumpin' out after me
Well, you feel on the concreate and nearly broke your ass
And you were bleedin' all over the place and I rushed you off to the hospital
You remember that?
Yes, I do
Well, there's somethin' I never told you about that night
Why didn't you tell me?
While you were sittin' there in the backseat smokin' a cigarette
That you thought was gonna be your last
I was fallin' deep, deeply in love with you and I never told you 'til just now

Home, let me come home
Home is wherever I'm with you
Oh home, yes, I am home
Home is when I'm alone with you

Home, let me come home
Home is wherever I'm with you
Oh home, yes, I am home
Home is when I'm alone with you

Alabama, Arkansas
I do love my ma and pa
Moats and boats and waterfalls
Lay awale 'til break of dawn

Home is wherever I'm with you
Home is when I'm alone with you

Au Revoir

One final look at Cannes
Even though my trip is coming to an end it does not mean that the blog will stop. It just will be less frequently updated and I cant imagine that the pictures will be as gorgeous as these! I hope you enjoyed!

French Cuisine

The French are well known for their food, whether it is a simple baguette and formage (cheese) of it is haute cuisine. One of the things that I learned here is that throughout France you will find different types of food and how they are prepared based on what region you are in. Of course in many restaurants you can find a wide variety of French food on the menu, yet the region you are in will play th emost influence on the options of your menu. In Cannes I found myself in the Cote de Azur region, with its specialities in sea food (especially mussels), salads, citrus, and a heavy influence of Italian food. I was quite in heaven and felt very fortunate to be in this region! Now the only trouble you may find when deciding what to eat is being able to read the menu! In my case this led to a lot of pizzas, because Pizza in English is Pizza in French. I also found myself in trouble at times ordering things that I hadn't quite anticipated, but I guess that is part of traveling. Without fail the desserts were always the most amazingly satisifying treats I could have hoped for! Always order dessert when traveling! When I am home in a couple of days, I know I will long for, jamon et fromage crepes, panini nutellas, fish in delictable basil cream sauce, violet ice cream, kinder joys, and of course... macaroons!
